Well, I never thought that I would be writing a post about anything that happened at work, but this was kind of cool.

After our lunch rush, there were a few people getting food. I asked one of my sandwhich makers what she was making. While I was ringing up the daily special for the woman, she walked over to hear the price, and I asked her if she would like a fountain drink, when I turned to face her again. At first she just said, “what was that?” I figured she just didn’t hear me, as she was an older woman (I know, I shouldn’t assume everyone loses hearing with old age), so I asked her again. She replied, “I would love a fountain drink.” So I added the drink and we exchanged money.

A few minutes later, I’m in the back room and I hear that we won something. I go out front to ring someone up. As I walked out front I looked over to the other end of the store and saw the woman I helped earlier handing a box over to one of my co-workers.

We are currently in the middle of a promotional sandwhich (and with it a little contest between Togo’s stores. Plus a second way to win stuff). If we ask a mystery shopper whether he or she would like a “fountain” drink with their daily feature or Bacana Beef sandwhich (that’s our promotional sandwhich), we can win beach towels for the rest of the crew that is there.

This Woman happened to be a mystery shopper, and the box had 10 beach towels in it. And no, these towels don’t say Togo’s or Pepsi or anything on them at all. They are very nice beach towels.
