Skating Kills. I got my Xbox last year and I haven’t had a problem with it since then. A few of my friends have had to send theirs back a few times but not me. I always thought that I had a machine from some mysterious “good” batch of consoles shipped from microsoft.
About the time when Halo 3 came out, I was telling one of my friends how I would be the only person with a working Xbox that wasn’t going to be getting Halo when it came out (I just had to temp the mighty gaming gods at microsoft). A few days later, while I was playing SKATE which I had just bought, my console kept freezing up on me. Then I tried to restart it one time, and I got the three red lights (three red lights on the Xbox means you have a major hardware malfunction).
I finally give up on my hopes that it was just a fluke and that it could still work, when my brother asked me how to send the console back, his had broke down too. Almost a month after sending it in, we finally got refurbished (not even the ones we sent them) machines back.
Was it “The Red Ring Of Death?”
Well, three red lights, yes. It was the fatal malfunction that everyone had. And my brother finally tested his console and found out that there is some kind of loud clicking (like a loose wire hitting a fan). So he’s trying to send it back again.
