Ok, well I learned an important lesson about a ladder. Don’t expect the person on the very bottom to be easy. The match I played on Monday ended in straight sets (0-6 0-6). The Guy that I played was only on the bottom because he played against a non-ranked player, so the winner would have to be placed anyway, but he had to be higher than the person he beat, so they both get placed on the bottom. The founder of this website has been very helpful. He sent me an email after receiving the result to the match and gave me some names of people hat I might have a better time against. I haven’t talked to any of them yet because I got a bad sunburn on my forehead during that match on Monday.
The next day my legs were a little sore from the volleys we did after our match. As I came home from work, before I even got in the door, Keith comes out holding my tennis shorts and shoes and tells me we are going to play basketball. I was basically dragged along with him to play, but I did have fun, so it wasn’t all bad. Although I kind of regretted it the next day when it hurt to walk.
Well on Wednesday I was ready to get to Kyle’s early so we could actually make it to our game night on time. Every email and message both me and Keith sent him were left unanswered (Keith was trying to get him to play basketball). He tried to get me to go with him, but I was going to let my legs rest a bit. We found out later that Kyle forgot that it was Wednesday (hence no calls to me about going to play magic) and he said his internet was down, which was the reason why he didn’t get my emails.
Since there was no magic this week I decided to get some more cards and try to beef up my decks. I also ended up getting a dealing shoe (like what casinos use at their tables) for when we play our 5-color magic game. The 5-color deck is exactly what it sounds like, it uses all five different types of mana (broken down into Plains, Islands, Mountains, Swamps and Forests) to create a deck to play with. There are some additional rules when playing this way, like the minimum number of cards in the deck being increased, as well as a minimum of each color represented. I got the dealing shoe because I don’t really want to try to draw a card from a 100+ card deck without it toppling over.
For the rest of the week I tried to let my sunburn and legs heal. I did work on my reviews section a bit while my legs were recovering, so look for that to be up within the month (hopefully
).
