Well I forgot to write a post last week and as it was already Thursday by the time I realized this, I figured I would just do a single post for the two weeks. Last weekend Sarah had a party at her place since her birthday was on the first and she had recently moved in, so it was a birthday/house warming party. It was also a chance for some of the other people at Togo’s to play Rock Band that couldn’t make it to my house in February.
We weren’t able to play any of the songs I had downloaded because we had no internet connection there (the downloaded tracks need to check the license in order to let you play it). this also made it difficult to play one of the multi-player modes because almost every time it tried to do a random set list, it would pick a downloaded song. I did bring the other Guitar Hero games too, so switched around between games. Most of the people were there until around 9:00, then everyone started heading home. We all had fun, and we are trying to get something else planned.
This Wednesday I called Kyle as I was driving to work to let him know that we might be late to Cody’s for Magic night because I was off at 6:00. Well halfway through the conversation, he remembered that he promised Kerry to make dinner (Keith believes he was just playing WoW). I told him to send me a text message with Cody’s address so that I could use my new GPS to find my way there. We did a “King of the Table” set up where we played a one-on-one match on two tables. the winner of the King table would stay, and the loser would move down where they would face the loser of that table. The winner of the lower table moves to the King table and plays the King. I had rebuilt my Kinship deck with all the cards I had bought a few weeks ago, and I was satisfied with a 3-3 record. I realized while playing my deck that I need to fix it a bit to add some disenchantments and to cut down on the total number of cards. I haven’t had much time to mess with it, but maybe I can get something down this next Wednesday (if Kyle ends up going).
This weekend was kind of crazy for my work schedule. I was supposed to have Friday off, so I went to the tennis courts to practice. After that I headed to Togo’s to get some food as usual. Just as I sat down, before I even unwrapped my sandwich, I get a call from Sarah asking me to cover her shift that night. Ok, so now I was working Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Well Saturday I opened, so I was off at 4:00. I headed over to Best Buy to exchange my bluetooth headset because the one I got last week would let me talk through it, but none of the buttons worked. As I was driving home with my new bluetooth (I made sure to check that the buttons worked before I left the Best Buy parking lot), I got a phone call from Togo’s as I was passing the on-ramp from El Dorado Hills Blvd. Apparently the police took the other shift leader away for something and the two new workers (they had only been there a couple of weeks) needed me to turn around and come back. So there I was back at work thinking, “wow, I closed last night, opened this morning, will close tonight, then open tomorrow, fun.” Luckily the incident with the police wasn’t huge and the closer was back by 8:00.
Now I have a day to rest and have plans this Friday to play tennis with a few people from work. Everyone is getting less hours now at wark, so that extra day and overtime on Saturday will help out a bit.
Nice Chadd, enjoyed reading about your week.
What’s this deal with the police, who was it?
